Now that their relationship is out in the open, Sheppard spends almost every night with Meredith. This causes our heroine to realize that she knows very few detail's about her doctor friend. Most of the hour is spent pouring over this fact, with little being revealed.
Meanwhile, we delve into Izzie's home life a bit. She cooks when stressed out, but her recent batch of cupcakes seems to be missing an ingredient. Against George's advice, though, she won't call her mom for help. The audience finds out that Izzie hasn't been home since 18, when she left her trailor to pay her way through medical school. Finally, a questionable patient that claims to be psychic shocks Izzie with certain pieces of knowledge - and the blond, beautiful intern is inspired to call the woman who brought her into this world.
Cristina - who had asked to be switched off the psychic because he correctly guessed her pregnancy - ends up on a case ... with a pregnant woman. After giving her woman and her husband the choice to terminate the baby and save the wife (who has a tumor), Cristina is dismayed when the couple elects to have the baby, cutting the mother's life short. Cristina just cannot fathom such a choice.
At first, Burke couldn't understand the aggressive attitude of Alex, either. This cocky intern went ahead and told a dying girl about an alternative heart valve procedure, one that even Burke wondering if he could pull off. After receiving tough love from Cristina, though, Burke goes ahead with the surgery and allows Alex to scrub in.
Throughout the day, Meredith and Sheppard had worked together on the case of a possible blood clot. Meredith is impressed with Sheppard's faith pays off and the duo discovers the problem, saving the patient from paralysis. But, wait, Meredith's day of pleasant surprises isn't over. Sheppard takes her to an open field, states a few facts about himself - such as his favorite color - and then turns to reveal that he owns all this land and lives in the trailer behind him. The rest, he says, she'll have to wait for. This information pleases Meredith and she takes the hand of her man, leading them into a night of trailer-made passion.

"You know when you were a little kid and you believed in fairy tales? That fantasy of what your life would be -- white dress, prince charming who’d carry you away to a castle on a hill. You’d lie in your bed at night and close your eyes and you had complete and utter faith. Santa clause, the tooth fairy, prince charming -- they were so close you could taste them. But eventually you grow up and one day you open your eyes and the fairy tale disappears. Most people turn to the things and people they can trust. But the thing is, it’s hard to let go of that fairy tale entirely because almost everyone has that smallest bit of hope and faith that one day they would open their eyes and it would all come true."MEREDITH
