On this episode of Hell on Wheels…

Cullen Bohannon's old robbery crew arrives in town to steal the $50,000 payroll being kept in the safe.

Elam Ferguson attempts to round up a few men to help protect it. After a deadly gunfight in which Bohannon arrives in time to save Ferguson but is unable to stop Durant from being shot, all the robbers are killed except for the leader.

Bohannon finds Doc, who was with the robbers, and asks him to help Durant, but Durant needs a real surgeon. He suggests Durant travel to Chicago for the medical help he needs.

Bohannon and Ferguson drag the leader to an open grave and give him his last words before Ferguson kills him before he is done talking.

Ferguson is kicked out of the white man's bar and he returns to the freed men section of town for companionship.

Bohannon learns that because Doc helped the robbers, he will be executed.

In all the commotion, the Swede steals the arsenal of guns.
