Mike and Ryan each want to do something with Boyd on the same weekend. Boyd suggests they all go on a trip together. Mike and Ryan reluctantly agree. 

On the drive to the hot air balloon races, Ryan's car breaks down. As Mike fixes the vehicle, the two men continue to argue about their different life views.

Ryan fills Mike in on why it is so important to him that Boyd spends time with Mike. When he was a kid, Ryan loved spending time with his grandfather.

However, Ryan's dad and grandfather did not get along. Eventually, Ryan's dad prevented him from spending time with his grandpa, even when he got sick. 

Mike reminds Ryan that he is not his father. He even tells Ryan that he is doing a good job parenting Boyd.

Mike and Ryan talk to Boyd to let him know that they only fight because they have different opinions. They reassure him their differences won't keep the three from spending time together. 

Kyle and Mandy play detectives after listening to an unsolved murder podcast. They discover a photo of a young Ed in the area at the time of the murders back in the 1970s.

When they confront Ed about the picture, he gets upset and shuts them down. 

Mandy is convinced Ed is the Leadville killer but Kyle refuses to turn him into the police. Ed listens to their conversation and finally comes clean. 

He admits the photo is of him and Barbra Streisand back in the day. They were naked and on peyote, so Ed kept the photo a secret to protect the rising star. 

Kyle and Many agree to keep his secret.
