Recap

At home, Rollins makes pancakes for the girls before school. One of the girls says she should make the extra one with butter and syrup. Rollins says that will get messy and don't tell Daddy, not a word about this pancake. She puts it in his briefcase.

Carisi comes down and Jessie immediately bursts out that Mommy put a pancake in his briefcase as a surprise. Rollins is disappointed to learn Carisi has to go to work ASAP to deal with a mountain of paperwork. The sitter comes to take the girls to school and Carisi makes sure Jessie has her inhaler and promises he will get them from school so Mommy can have a day off.

After the kids leave, Carisi asks how long before Rollins freaks out. She apparently has lost her job at Fordham. She says she wasn't happy there anyway and enjoyed being with Carisi and the kids this weekend.

At a church, during a wedding, the bride says she can't do this. She drops the ring on the floor and runs away crying, confusing her husband-to-be.

Benson calls Rollins. She heard Rollins isn't working anymore and wants to see how she is. Is she free for lunch?

At the squad room, Rollins is skeptical of Curry and Bruno. She's glad Benson isn't short-staffed anymore. Benson asks her why she turned down a tenured position at Fordham -- what does she want to do instead? Bruno interrupts. The bride is locked in the vestibule and won't talk to anyone but them. Benson invites Rollins to tag along on the case.

Benson and Rollins arrive at the church. The groom is even more confused and worried when they won't let him into the room with them.

Jenna tells the detectives that she was raped last night. She stayed at her parents', observing the tradition of not being with the groom the night before the wedding. At 3 AM she was awkened by a man in the bed who covered her mouth. The window had been open a crack to let air in and that's how he broke into the house. She doesn't want to see her family.

THe detectives say they'll take her out the back. THe groom asks what's going on when they open the door. They are taking her to the hospital for a rape kit. He can ride along so they can question him.

At the hospital, Jenna has to have a rape kit exam. She asks how long it will take. Rollins says a few hours. Jenna says that she doesn't have anyplace else to be. She asks Rollins to stay with her. The nurse comes in and is glad to see Rollins back.

As the exam begins, the nurse asks Jenna to remove her rings so they can swab her fingers for DNA. Jenna recalls the rapist held her wrists behind her back and his hands were rough like he worked with them for a living.

Fin asks Benson about the groom. She believes he is genuinely shocked. FIn also asks about Rollins and BEnson says it's like Rollins never left. They should check her paperwork. Fin is surprised that Rollins could come back, but Benson may be able to make it happen and will make some calls.

Fin questions Philip, the groom. He has no idea how this could have happened. He's worried about Jenna and wonders if they are legally married or what. He also is angry that this happened but doesn't blame Jenna one bit. He wishes she'd have told him. He says the only ones who knew Jenna was at her parents were the members of the wedding party.

Other members of the wedding party are questioned, yielding nothing useful though one guy says Philip should be kicking himself for not staying with Jenna.

The cops discuss the case. Rollins and Benson think the rapist knew that Jenna was about to be married. Fin and Bruno aren't so sure. The rape kit DNA comes back and is tied to another rape of a bride the night before her wedding three months ago, settling that question. Rollins says the rapist could be acitng out Prima Nocte, a medieval custom where the lord of the castle was allowed to sleep with any maiden he desired the night before the wedding.

The cops try and fail to find any connection between the two brides. Rollins wants to check sex offender directories to see if someone worked at one of the vendors. FIn says she has someplace else to be. He takes her to the shooting range to requalify and says she needs this if she wants to carry a gun on this case. He asks her about what about after this case. Rollins says she's been unemployed all of one day but she knows what it's like to be a bride and be in love. Fin asks her if Carisi knows she's working with SVU. She'll tell him tonight. She asks FIn how unmarried life is. He says he and Phoebe are great.

A detective from uptown comes to see the SVU squad. He says he was working a case about a year ago. Woman reported a rape the night before her wedding but decided not to file a report and recanted her statement. The cops get the woman's name from him.

Benson heads over. Mrs. Richards answers the door holding a baby. She doesn't know why the cops are there and seems uncomfortable talking in front of her husband. Benson says they are investigating robberies in the area where they stayed the night before the wedding. Mrs. Richards claims not to remember anything. They give her a card just in case.

Later, while the cops are discussing the case, Mrs. Richards shows up at the squad room and asks to talk to Benson privately. She admits she was raped. Her husband does not know the baby is the rapist's. Her story is just like the others except the guy got in by knocking on the door. She says he looked like someone she saw at the flower wholesale shop.

The cops go to the shop and see a guy named Leon who ignores them when they call to him. They confront him and he says he's hard of hearing. He also claims that during Jenna's rape he was watching TV with his landlady who is like a grandma to him.

The cops question the landlady who says she loves Leon more than her real grandchildren. She gets mad when they ask if she would lie for him and they let her see his room but say if they try to take his hairbrush for DNA she will call her estranged granddaughter who is a lawyer.

Carisi says they don't have enough of a case to prosecute. Benson thinks a sting would work. Get him to think he's got another bride-to-be he can rape. Fin says he can't participate because Phoebe would be upset if he pretended to be getting married. Benson says Rollins and Carisi wouldn't have to pretend.

Rollins and Carisi go to the flower shop and Rollins pretends to be a giddy bride-to-be. Carisi gives Leon the address to surprise Rollins with flowers.

Rollins is in the hotel room. Carisi wires her up and notes that she has a spark back in her eye. She says she's only been unemployed one day so it doesn't mean anything.

Carisi watches from the van while Rollins works the perp. He gets nervous when she flirts with Leon and tries to get him to take a drink so they can get his DNA. He's about to call for help when the perp leaves. Benson orders an unmarked car follow him. Carisi checks on Rollins who says she's fine and that they got Leon.

Leon is arrested and wants his lawyer.

There is a lineup but only Jenna participates. Breena probably won't because she'd have to admit to her husband she was raped. The defense attorney makes a lot of noise about Carisi having a conflict of interest because Rollins worked the case, to no avail.

Jenna can't visually ID Leon but when she turns her back and hears each potential suspect say "You're gonna remember me" she shudders at Leon's voice and says it's definitely him.

Benson walks Jenna out. Jenna has cut her hair and Benson likes the haircut. Jenna is ready for a fresh start. She has been working things out and it has been ro ugh but at least her family knows she still is in love with Philip.

Breena shows up as Jenna leaves. She asks about the lineup. She wants to participate.

Leon is identified and Carisi convinces him to take a deal for 40 years rather than 100. Benson asks him why he did it. He says he was tired of waiting for his own best day to come along.

Carisi tells Benson that Rollins was a real asset. He thinks she's happier at SVU. Benson isn't sure that's what Rollins wants.

Benson brings Rollins her suirrel in a jar. She says there's no desk for Rollins. But more seriously, she isn't sure this is what Rollins wants. She'd love to have her back but she doesn't want SVU to be her safety net in between jobs. Rollins says it's hard for her to think about what makes her happy. She's still fighting her inner demons. So is Benson.
