Law & Order: SVU Season 23 Episode 16 revolves around a hard-to-prove rape case.

When Valesco goes on a date with a woman he met on an online dating app, it goes badly. The woman is drunk and accuses him of assaulting her, then falls down the stairs. Valesco tells Benson what happened and she goes to talk to the woman.

Lisa is now sober and says Valesco didn't do anything wrong. She tells Benson that she works for the app and her boss raped her a week ago after they matched on it. During the investigation, the team talks to Cress, Jackson' sb business partner, and asks her not to talk to Jackson before they do. However, Cress chooses to hold a press conference announcing she's resigning and starting her own company because Jackson is a rapist.

Cress' behavior casts doubts on Lisa's story and Jackson consistently makes videos online discrediting her too. And when Jackson's trial begins, his lawyer tries to paint Valesco as the real assailant and claims that Lisa made the whole thing up to help Cress steal Jackson's company.
