Hope ventured into the Necromancer's mind and found herself in Rousseau's. 

She found herself trapped while trying to find out the truth about her father's death, but Rafael's dead girlfriend stole the knife and used a Bennett witch to send it to Malivore to be destroyed. 

When that happened the Necromancer was free, but he did tell Hope that Klaus watches over her every day, but wouldn't be happy until she was. 

That allowed Hope to finally process the death of her father. 

We also learned that the knife being destroyed was only phase one of three and that more drama was to come. 

Someone was watching what was going on in Malivore after it emerged that Landon was in trouble while in New Orleans. 

Elsewhere, MG realized he wanted to be a better vampire, so he turned to Kaleb who taught him the "eat, snatch, run" from when Damon used to do it. 

Rafael struggled to come to terms with the death of his girlfriend, but Alaric told him that it would get better with time.
