The Camarilla are drilling for mycelium in Southern Iran. They fill a hole with a chemical that will poison the mycelium. Kara Brandt is funding the drilling operation. M fingers Wade's chief of staff as being at the secret Camarilla meeting on which she eavesdropped. She and Anacostia ponder President Wade's allegiances. When the marshals are distracted, the fugitives race under a mystical barrier into The Cession, despite Khalida tripping. Izadora collects rainwater samples. Distrust is growing among the fugitives, who debate about hiding out in The Cession. Nicte shows Tally the price of decades of misusing magic. Tally discovers she can see days into the future. M gets placed on Wade's detail. Anacostia suggests to Petra using the fugitives to surveil a Camarilla chemical plan in The Cession. Abigail is feeling deserted by her unitmates. The head marshall can see the disguised Adil. The fugitives run and Hirst slips away. The infected Raelle awakes in a replica of her bedroom with her mother Willa in the doorway.
