- Sam is contacted by an Afghan elder that saved his life that is now living in Los Angeles for help finding his missing nephew, Amir. Initially, Granger and Hetty refuse to let him use government resources, but then Eric found a terrorist tie.
- At first, Sam believes his friend, Yusef, is the target, but Kensi and Deeks uncover the true target, Sam. When he goes to the boathouse to see Yusef, he is met by Amir and the terrorists that want to kill Sam. They tie Sam up before killing him, which gives Callen, Kensi, and Deeks time to save him.
- When Amir tries to finish it by shooting Sam, Yusef kills his nephew.
