Lois sniffs a story when Morgan Edge wants to give jobs to Smallville, but she's put in an awkward position when he takes over as the head of the Daily Planet.

Kyle tries to argue with Lois over the way she is going after someone who is supposedly trying to help everyone.

Lois responds by quitting her job when the story is edited, and takes up a job in Smallville with a smaller newspaper.

Lois also has to come to terms with Jordan's powers.

Jordan takes the day off school to go with Clark to the Fortress of Solitude, but the day does not go to plan when it emerges that Jordan is not fated to be a superhero.

Captain Luthor continues to cause problems for everyone and Clark sets out to find out some things about him.

Luthor manages to get rid of Clark when he finds him by sending a rocket ship into Metropolis centre.

Luthor tells Clark that he will destroy this planet like he did his own.

Jonathan is upset at the way he is being picked on in the school because of the way Jordan acted at the party.
