Joanie goes to the cemetery to pay her respects to her father. 

She bumps into a man named EJ who tells her that he would like to interview her. He gives her a ride home, and says that it would be great to chat. 

They then meet on the beach at a moon sighting, and Joanie is confused when the conversation switches to it being the place Alison died. EJ says that the police report is there to view. 

Joanie meets him and they got to see it. He was right, and Joanie starts to question everything. 

She returns home and tells her husband she cheated on him, but she still loves him. 

He throws her out and she runs into EJ's arms. He tells her she is still grieving the death of her mother. 

They have sex and Joanie realizes that the man in question from the news report was Alison's boyfriend. 

That alone makes her start to wonder whether Ben could be the killer and her mother may not have died of her own will. 

EJ vows to help her out, but we are left to ponder what could be coming next for them.
