Michael and Janet show up at Doug Forcett's house disguised as news reporters. They want to use him as a blueprint to help others get into The Good Place.

After spending time with Doug, Michael and Janet realize Doug is a happiness pump - someone who will do anything to make others happy even if it makes them miserable. 

Meanwhile, Eleanor goes to Tahani for advice about her past relationship with Chidi. Tahani convinces her to tell Chidi how she feels about him. 

Before she can finish talking to Chidi, the gang is surrounded by Shawn and the rest of the demons. Michael and Janet come back and Shawn tries to take them all to the Bad Place.

Janet physically fights the demons while Michael shoves them through a portal. During the fighting, Eleanor tells Chidi that she thinks she's in love with him. 

The gang sends the demons back to the Bad Place and tie Shawn up to question him. He tells them that they're delaying the inevitable since they'll all go to the Bad Place eventually. 

Michael reveals that he thinks there's something off with the point system for the Good Place and he wants to investigate. 

More demons come through the door so Janet hides everyone in her void.
