A flashback reveals how Daryl and Michonne received their "X" scars.

Michonne continuously searches for Rick's body in hopes that she would find him alive or dead and get some closure.

At Alexandria, Rosita arrives at the front gate with a woman and several children whom they found wondering nearby. Michonne recognizes the woman as her old friend, Jocelyn. Jocelyn asks Michonne and the others for help as she has more children in the abandoned building.

Michonne forms a group to rescue the children and brings them all back to Alexandria. The kids prove their worth by hunting and helping feed the community. Jocelyn reveals that she found the children and helped raise and train them to be hunters.

The following day Michonne discovers that Jocelyn and her kids are gone and have kidnapped the rest of the children in Alexandria, including Judith.

Frantic, Michonne goes searching for them as Daryl accompanies her. They end up being ambushed and taken prisoner by Joclelyn's kids and are branded, revealing the cause of their scars.

They're able to free themselves and Michonne is forced to kill Jocelyn. Michonne offers to bring the children back to Alexandria where they will be safe but the children attack. Forced to protect herself and her unborn baby, Michonne is forced to kill Jocelyn's children in self-defense.

In the present timeline, Daryl, Henry, and Lydia arrive with an injured Henry. Michonne is skeptical of Lydia but trusts Daryl and allows them to enter. Henry is patched up, but Michonne will not allow Lydia to stay, which forces Daryl, Connie, Henry, and Lydia to leave.

Judith -- upset that Michonne wouldn't allow Daryl and the others to stay -- sneaks out to help them. Michonne quickly deduces what Judith's intentions are and goes to search for her.

Michonne catches up with Judith and helps her dispatch some walkers. Afterward, Michonne tells Judith that she was right and that they need to protect the ones they love and decide to travel to the Kingdom for the fair.

Along the way, they find Daryl, Connie, Lydia, and Henry and offer them a ride.

Meanwhile, the Whisperers discover the Kingdom and state that they must go tell Alpha.
