Chevy Chase basically helped take a little show known as Saturday Night Live off the ground as one of the original cast members. After being the first member to leave the show in 1976, he went on to have an iconic film career in the 1980s including Caddyshack, Fletch, the Vacation series, Spies Like Us and Three Amigos.
Chase had a less than successful career in the 1990s and disappeared from the spotlight for the most part until his return to television in 2006. Since then the actor seems to be owned by NBC, having appeared in Chuck as a recurring role and now as a regular on Community.
