David Canary

Bio

David Canary is one of the longest tenured actors on All My Children. He came to prominence on the show Bonanza and has portrayed Adam and Stuart Chandler since 1983.

In 1981, Canary assumed the role of Steve Frame on the soap opera Another World. After that, he joined the cast of AMC in the role of cunning Adam. The following year, he was also cast as Adam's meek twin brother, Stuart. He has played the twins ever since - and as per SAG stipulations, gets paid double for performing two parts.

As the winner of five Daytime Emmy Awards for Best Actor, Canary has also been nominated an additional 10 times. He has performed in such musicals as, "Man of La Mancha", "Sweeny Todd", "Kismet" and "Carousel."

The actor is married to actress Maureen Maloney, with whom he has a son and daughter. Canary also has an older daughter from a previous marriage. He is the brother of actor John Canary, who once had a role on All My Children.
