Jim Parsons was born in Houston, Texas and started acting in first grade. However, Parson's most notable first role was as the nerd, Tim in Garden State that was dating one of the boy's mothers. The guy worked at Medieval Times and spoke Klingon. Perhaps that was inspiration for Parson's now iconic role as the nerdy Sheldon on The Big Bang Theory.
