Riverdale Promo: Penny Is Back!

Uh oh! Things aren't looking too good for Jughead and the rest of the young Southside Serpents on Riverdale Season 2 Episode 12.

Their biggest fear has found her way back to town. Penny Peabody is back with a vengeance.

You can't keep a snake charmer away for too long. She bides her time until she's ready to strike. And from the fear on Jughead's face during the promo, he's expecting the worst.

The last time we saw Penny was on Riverdale Season 2 Episode 9. The young Southside Serpents had kidnapped her, dragged her to Greendale, and Jughead removed the Serpent tattoo from her arm. It was a gruesome and shocking scene to see Jughead do that.

Penny was effectively banished from town.

From the quick appearance in the trailer, she's ready to come back home. Though, her arrival does bring a lot of looming questions.

Is she out for revenge? Why did she return home? Could she still be looking to collect from Jughead and FP?

Also appearing in the teaser is a mournful and repentant Veronica.

A lot is happening in her life right now, especially with her secret involvement in her parents' business dealings. However, what she didn't plan for was that Archie would become her father's new intern on Riverdale Season 2 Episode 11. (Coincidence? We think not.)

Keeping her own secrets is one thing, but trying to hide them from her boyfriend in close proximity is another story. She is worried that he could find out the truth.

Though, Hiram might have his own secrets too. He's having private conversations and plans with Archie. What could they be?

If you didn't think "Chapter Twenty-Five: The Wicked and the Divine" wasn't dramatic enough, Dark Betty makes another return.

We already know Chic plans to help Betty manage her inner darkness; she did ask her big brother for the support. Though, the wig is very reminiscent of Riverdale Season 1 Episode 3. And based on that night, things did get out of hand.

Could this be a slippery slope for Betty?
