Virginia Madsen to Recur on The Event

When The Event returns on February 28, it will feature a new, familiar face.

Veteran actress Virginia Madsen has been cast in a recurring role on the struggling NBC drama. She'll portray Catherine Lewis, the widow of a U.S. senator from Alaska, who is focused on carrying out her husband's legacy.

Madsen most recently appeared on ABC's Scoundrels. But fans of The Event might not be discouraged by that show's fate: it was canceled after one abbreviated season.
