Portia de Rossi Cast as Lily in Remake of The Munsters

NBC has found a wife for Jerry O’Connell.

Multiple sources confirm that Portia de Rossi has signed on for Mockingbird Lane - the network's Bryan Fuller-produced remake of The Munsters - as Lily, the matriarch of this unusual, monstrous family.

Fuller (Pushing Daisies) says his script is a "reinvention and re-imagination" of the series that ran for 70 episodes in the 1960s.

If casting continues at this pace - Eddie Izzard is on board as Grandpa - Mockingbird Lane may end up with a spot on NBC's mideason schedule.

de Rossi, meanwhile, was most recently seen on the wildly underrated sitcom, Better Off Ted, and will forever be known to many as Lindsay Bluth Fünkeon Arrested Development.
