Scott Elrod is his way to The Young and the Restless.

The actor, whose big screen resume includes role in Argo and Lone Survivor, will come on board the CBS drama as Joe Clark, the ex-husband of Avery Clark (Jessica Collins).

As longtime viewers are keenly aware, this union was doomed as soon as Avery had affair Dylan McAvoy… yet she has always felt guilty for betraying her husband.

What can fans look forward to from Elrod as Clark?

"Viewers can expect Joe to have more than a few tricks up his sleeve as he crosses paths with several key Y&R characters," a show rep tells TV Guide.

Look for Elrod to debut in October.
