Forever Season 1 Episode 4 Review: The Art of Murder

at .  Updated at .

Forever continued tonight with another strong episode.

On Forever Season 1 Episode 4 Henry and Jo investigate when a well known New York socialite is found dead, but just how does Henry know her?

The opening scene was as funny as it was tragic. Gloria walked through the museum cursing at everyone that she passed, introducing us to a new suspect every step she took.

When Jo arrived at the crime scene in the dead of night she was shocked to see that Henry had sent Lucas as medical examiner. It was funny to see Henry being kicked off of a case, but I'm beginning to question why Lucas is still employed.

The good memories. Those are the ones that hurt the most,

Jo

Last week he basically let someone steal brains from bodies and this week he spoke to a reporter who published an article on the case and caused a raft of complications. If that was not bad enough, he illegally conducted an autopsy on the victim.

Conrad Carlyle really hated the law. Every time he was in contact with Henry or Jo he just seemed to be throwing torrents of threats at them. The target on him just seemed to be getting bigger as the episode progressed.

Do not gloat, Henry.

Jo

It is becoming a trend that whenever Jo is interrogating a suspect, Henry does something comical that makes the force look unprofessional.

This week he called Jo on her cell phone during an interrogation with an other question for her to ask the suspect You can't make this stuff up! Her reactions to his antics are always hilarious.

Through flashbacks we found out Gloria was not all bad. Abigail and Henry gate crashed her party many years ago and she was very pleasant with them both and actually welcomed them to the party.

Abe was yet again one of the standout characters. I laughed out when Henry asked him to take a "Jpeg" and send it to him. Who even says that these days?

I was really shocked when it turned out that nurse was left everything in the will. It would have been a cop out to make her the killer after this. It would have been extremely obvious motive for murder.

In the end, there was no killer. Gloria killed herself. She found out she had only months to live and decided to end her life at the gala as it was an event she loved and wanted to die happy.

It was thrilling that there were so many suspects and I kept thinking about each character's motive, but It never once crossed my mind that she could have killed herself.

Abe: You look terrible.
Henry: Well thank you. Even an immortal needs a solid six houra.

Henry finally opened up a bit to Jo. He informed her about Abigail being the love of his life. She must feel a bit closer to him now. She has told him a lot about her but knows little about him.

The promo spot on ABC for this episode showed Jo telling Henry she knows his secret. I think we all knew that this was to drum up excitement and there was no way Jo would find out just yet. It was reminiscent of a Revenge Season 1 promo which featured Victoria telling Emily she knew her true identity. She didn't actually find that out until almost three years later!

This was a fantastic episode. The series just seems to be improving with every hour. The flashbacks all have meaning and this week they were the key to Henry solving what really caused Gloria's death. I'm excited to see where the story goes next.

What did you think of the episode? Were you shocked Gloria's death was a suicide?
