There were some shocking developments on Homeland Season 4 Episode 4.

Frankly, I'm a little nauseous and at a loss for words, but I'll give it a go.

Quinn made it to Islamabad, bearing the news that he is just one more psych eval away from saying sayonara to the CIA. Good for him. If he can get out, then he should run like hell.

Unfortunately, his feelings for Carrie are likely to keep him tied up on her away team, especially after he learns how far gone she really is.

There were some really great political moments during the hour, including Saul's breakfast with a General named Bunny. 

Bunny: Back when we were fighting the cold war, the Russians were tough, but...
Saul: They didn't saw our heads off on the Internet, blow up innocent people, fly airplanes into the twin towers.
Bunny: Come on, Saul.
Saul: What?
Bunny: We both know 9/11 was a hoax; an Israeli/American excuse to launch a crusade against the Muslim world.
Saul: Honestly. I don't know what to say when I hear men of your deep knowledge and experience talk like that.

That conversation was enough to light a fire under Bunny's butt and he secured Saul a meeting with Aasar Khan. Who is that? My only guess is he's at the top of the ISI. All of the talk about what is real and what is false made an impact because of what Fara discovered though Aayan.

His uncle, the terrorist who was supposedly killed at the wedding, is alive. Aayan was absolutely panicked about the loss of the medication (whatever it is) because he's delivering to Haissam Haqqani. How he's alive, why he needs the medication and who it's for might play into the bigger story.

And the story is big. The secrets that Sandy Bachman was sharing for his own intel on terrorists came straight from Martha Boyd's office courtesy of her husband. Will Mark Moses ever get the chance to play a decent guy? Dennis Boyd was certainly scared for his life, and if he's buying whatever that woman was selling about his freedom if only he pulls off a few more acts on their behalf, I have a feeling he'll regret it.

Did John know who Sandy was dealing with? He had a tail on Carrie, and although he made it seem to her it was protection, that was bull. He's trying to figure out what she learns so he has a way to deal with things before they get back to him. 

Was Sandy in so deep that he knew the intel was bad and Haqqani wasn't in the house? That's the best reason I can think of to kill him -- to shut him up.

What a colossal mess. I can only hope most of our CIA agents aren't like the ones portrayed on Homeland. It seems the best work is being done by Carrie and her away team, so the rogues are better than the government agents.

Peter was worried about Carrie and I didn't quite catch the quote, but the gist of it was he knows what they do is like a drug. You're all about the high that comes mission after mission and always wanting the next one to sustain the feeling.

Being bipolar Carrie needs the adrenaline rush. We don't even know if she's on her meds (other than ambien). The entire scene when she welcomed Aayan to the safe house and suggested they make up the couch was extremely uncomfortable. I knew what she was going to do, but was so hoping it wouldn't need to go too far.

When Carrie was getting bed linens and took a look at herself in the mirror, she had to be thinking about what Quinn said. She knows the power and the rush her job gives her. She's never been a shrinking violet when it comes to sex, but nonetheless I never imagined she would go so far.

She is as far down the rabbit hole as Quinn ever was, even if their directions are different. It's hard not to imagine some sort of reckoning for Carrie as she runs farther and farther away from her real life into the safety she feels fighting terrorism because is frees her from reality.

Quinn has feelings for Carrie, and he recently used someone to help satiate his own needs. If he realizes what Carrie did with Aayan, how will he handle it? Will his first thought be to run or will it be to protect this crazy girl he can't get out of his mind? One thing is certain -- it becomes more difficult to like Carrie with each passing episode.

This hour really hit me hard. What about you? Can you imagine going to such lengths to track a terrorist or to uncover secrets? Where do you see things going from here?
