On Jane the Virgin Season 1 Episode 1, viewers met Gina Rodriguez, the breakout actress behind a title character who thought she had her life all mapped out.

She would be a writer and a teacher. She would marry her fiance Michael. She would lose her virginity on their wedding night.

And all of that is still possible, but a rather unexpected obstacle has now been placed before Jane: she's pregnant, thanks to an artificial insemination mix-up at the doctor's office. A pretty big one, we must say.

Looking ahead to Jane the Virgin Season 1 Episode 2, Xiomara will pressure her daughter to sue the physician, while Michael will form a alliance with Petra due to his jealousy about Jane and Rafael’s past.

The CW has unveiled an extended trailer that features new scenes from next Monday's installment, as well as from the season in general. Take a look now:
