Castle, Ryan , and Esposito quickly learn that 3XK and Dr. Niemann have abducted Kate Beckett in Castle Season 7 Episode 15 but have no evidence to be able to arrest them.

Castle takes matters into his own hands and heads to Michael Boudreaux's apartment, believing that he is really Jerry Tyson. He attacks the man and threatens him with a gun but the police bust in and stop him. Boudreaux presses charges against Castle but later, Castle gets a phone call from Tyson, taunting him and revealing the truth.

Meanwhile, Beckett is secured to a surgical gurney and being held by Dr Kelly Niemann who takes scans of Beckett's face. Beckett struggles to get loose from her restraints. 

Capt. Gates lets Castle continue on the investigation despite the assault charges but encourages Castle to look for Jerry Tyson's story. To get inside the man's head because that's the only way they're going to catch him and save Detective Beckett.

As the rest of the 12th follows the evidence Castle appears to go off on his own and talks to Tyson's old cell mate who is currently in prison. Castle manages to convince him to share Tyson's location.
