Rizzoli & Isles Season 5 Episode 14 Review: Foot Loose

The tide continued to roll in on the shores of Boston, but the peaceful sound of the waves was marred by the site of severed limbs on Rizzoli & Isles Season 5 Episode 14.
Of course it was nothing that Korsak hadn't seen before as Jane pointed out in this Rizzoli & Isles quote...
Jane: Is there anything you haven’t seen once before?
Korsak: You cutting me slack.
I was actually expecting more feet to wash up on shore but instead they found an entire torso. Well, a torso with its limbs sawed off, which was pretty gruesome. I was actually rather grateful when the smell of almonds interrupted Maura's autopsy. Somehow watching her work on a piece of a body was more disturbing.
Thanks to Korsak, I may never look at almond cookies the same way but his insistence that Burke was only holding a vial of almond extract and not cyanide was one of my favorite moments.
We never even got to meet the mysterious Dr. Murray, mostly because that was sawed apart torso lying on Maura's table. I began to suspect just that when his assistant ended up in the hospital.
I wish they would have delved further into sound healing as it does have some merits, specifically for stress relief but believing it could be a cure all for everything from chronic pain, degenerative disease and cancer was quite a stretch. But as Angela pointed out, sometimes faith and hope are all people have to hold on to.
Speaking of Angela, she was on fire in this episode.

I felt her pain during her job hunt. Who hasn't been there at one time or another but Angela will make the perfect bartender and perhaps restaurant manager. And she really did save that guy from making the world's worst proposal.
I want to say that Chip leaking information to his cousin with a crime blog was silly but at the same time, I've worked with people like Chip who probably wouldn't think twice about doing something so stupid. He deserved to lose his job. Thankfully he didn't hold a grudge...or did he. There are so many ways to interpret his rendering of comic book Jane the superhero.
