Supergirl Casts Grey's Anatomy Alumna Chyler Leigh

Supergirl's cast is growing!

Two more actors have been cast to star opposite Melissa Benoist and Calista Flockhart in the upcoming and highly anticipated CBS drama series from Greg Berlanti and Ali Adler.

Grey's Anatomy alumna Chyler Leigh has been added as Alexandra "Alex" Danvers. Alex is the confident foster sister of Kara Zor-El (Benoist). 

It was the Danvers family who took Kara in when she landed on earth from Krypton and taught her to be careful with her powers. Alex's fascination with Kara's powers lead her to study science and become a doctor.

Homewood vet David Harewood had also been recruited. He will be co-starring as Hank Henshaw, a former CIA agent who is now runs the Department of Extra-Normal Operations (DEO), tasked with tracking extraterrestrial threats on earth. In the comics, the character is known to fans as Cyborg Superman.

Finally, behind the scenes, Andrew Kreisberg has joined Supergirl as an Executive Producer and writer on the series.
