NBC is no longer pledging allegiance to Allegiance.
The network announced today that it has canceled the low-rated drama after five episodes.
The series premiered last month to under 5 million total viewers and a 1.1 rating among 18-49-year olds, with those numbers falling to 3.4 and 0.8, respectively last night.
At 8/7c going forward, NBC will air Dateline: The Real Blacklist, a new investigative series hosted by Richard Engel that looks into conspiracy-themed cases and crimes that involve larger-than-life perpetrators and circumstances.
The Slap - which hasn't exactly been blowing NBC away with its ratings, either - will take over Allegiance‘s 10/9c timeslot starting next week.
