Natalie Martinez as Jess Murphy - Secrets and Lies

TV Fanatic: What can you tell us about the upcoming installment?

Natalie Martinez: The intensity is going to start building. A lot of things are going to be answered. I think by 10, we're going to have a really good idea as to who is the one that is the true suspect of Secrets and Lies, so there's definitely going to be a lot of things happening in the next coming episodes. A lot of crucial information and a lot of questions will be answered.

TVF: Sounds good. Will Jess play a part in Ben’s vendetta to destroy Cornell?

NT: I think it becomes a part of just kind of saving someone's being. You know what happens on this show. The vendetta per se, I think is more Ben's mission. I think it's more everyone else clearing their name and finding out what happened. That goes for the killer and for the suspects. Everyone's having all these secrets and lies and no one is trying to get caught.

TVF: Would you say Jess is pursuing Ben, or is she just a mother who has lost her son and needs someone to talk to?

NT: When such dramatic things happen in your life, you need certain things, or want certain things. I don't think Jess has ill intentions towards Ben and his family. I think she's just at a point right now were she is alone and being alone can lead to many things.

TVF: We’ve saw that Ben is a hot headed character and that he left that message to Jess. Do you think there is any chance Ben could actually be the killer?

NT: That's the best thing about this show. Anyone could be a possible suspect. It could have been an accident. It could have been done on purpose and no one knows that. That's why throughout episodes 7-10, a lot of these questions will be answered. We'll start to know more hardcore facts, like what happened that night. I can't tell if he is the killer or not, because that's what we're still trying to figure out. That's definitely what I think makes this show so interesting. You can see one character being this way, as we've seen in the past and all of a sudden in the next episode you might get a clue, which will turn you in another direction.

TVF: Can you talk about any upcoming scenes between Jess and Christy?

NT: Yeah there will be. I'm telling you, there's going to be a lot of stuff that's going to be coming. Crazy confrontations between the Crawford family and the Murphy family. There's going to be a lot of resolutions and more questions in the next coming episodes.

TVF: The character is so different from your character on Under The Dome, what do you like about playing Jess?

NT: Jess has so much more for me to play. Jess is going through so much. She is going through the loss of a child and breaking up with Mr Murphy. You know, this relationship with Ben and it's just a cool and interesting role for an actress to play just because there is so much to do.
