The Real Housewives of New York City Season 7 Episode 1 Review: The B is Back

at .  Updated at .

Bethenny Frankel returned to The Real Housewives of New York City Season 7 Episode 1 and no one cried about it more than she did. We recap all the tears in our +/- review.

Don't get me wrong, it's wonderful that Bethenny's back. (Even better that Aviva Drescher is gone for good! Plus 75!) And it's obvious that Bethenny's life is far from perfect but it was still hard to feel sorry for her.

Bethenny sat in the back of a chauffeured vehicle crying about being homeless. Homeless?!? Not quite.

As Bethenny herself put it in this The Real Housewives of New York City quote...

I'm the wealthiest homeless person in Manhattan.

Bethenny

Yes, she lost her prized apartment to her ex and that's frustrating but Bethenny is hardly homeless. She's living in a penthouse suite of a hotel while she awaits her new multi-million dollar apartment being renovated. Cry me a river. Minus 33.

Honestly, none of the housewives seemed particularly happy. Ramona Singer was reeling from finding out that husband Mario is a philandering louse. On the upside, at least she knows the truth. On the downside, some days the truth sucks.

But she shouldn't expect much sympathy from good friend Sonja Morgan who managed to make herself the focus of every conversation. If Ramona's been going through a breakup for months, she should really feel sorry for Sonja whose divorce has lingered on for 10 years.

Minus 17. Maybe it's time for Sonja to actually move on.

LuAnn looked as though she was trying too hard to hold it all together. I didn't realize that she and Jacques were together for four years when they called it quits.

Carole's working on two things, her cucumber, vodka, and butter diet and her sex life. Too bad her second book hasn't made the list. Minus 45. How stupid did she look when she was surprised that there were actual deadlines in her contract?

I really wanted to slap Carole silly. How many struggling writers are there that would kill to be asked to write a book or spin it off into a TV pilot? Apparently Carole's too interested in her Tinder app to be bothered.

Heather was almost nonexistent tonight and Kristen was the only happy housewife in the bunch.

A big plus 60 just to see little Kingsley up and running! That's just awesome.

Finally we got to meet Dorinda, the widow with the new mafioso wannabe boyfriend and the spoiled brat of a daughter whose idea of finding herself is shopping for overpriced handbags and shoes. Minus 23.

I wish Jill Zarin were back too.

Episode total = +17! Season total = +17!
