17 TV Shows We Miss More and More Everyday

Losing a favorite TV show can cut to the quick. We're not going to pretend it doesn't.

But there is still light at the end of the tunnel. Some of your favorite stars from these beloved, but dearly departed series are on the scene this season in other productions including Nashville, Blood and Oil, American Horror Story, The Bastard Executioner, and the upcoming Wicked City.

Or...you might just have to go to your local cinemaplex, because these shows were so good they propelled some of the stars right onto the big screen.

1. Gossip Girl

Gossip Girl helped us escape from our everyday lives and into the lives of the filthy rich. With all the drama you’d expect from a primetime soap, it also served up vivid, sexy characters that we could look at all day long. We still ship Chair and Derena even to this day! The good news is Blake Lively is alive and kicking all over the movies and Ed Westwick is killing it in Wicked City and Chace Crawford is sudsing it up in Blood and Oil. We're not the only one who sees value in the beautiful people!

2. The Office

Maybe it's because the average, everyday person gets up everyday and trudges into The Office that we cannot get over having an on-air equivalent to help us get by? Whatever it is, we will probably miss the antics of the gang from Scranton, PA, always and forever. Would it hurt to check in every once in a while?

3. Parks and Recreation

Yes, Pawnee friends, it scares us, too, how much we miss you! It hasn't even been that long! Thanks to NBC for recognizing the value of Parks and Rec despite the fact it wasn't a ratings monster, because can you imagine our lives without these memorable faces in them now? Almost every actor is a household name and Chris Pratt is the biggest action star since Harrison Ford. All thanks to Leslie Knope and her dreams to build a little park outside of April and Andy's apartment.

4. Revenge

When Victoria died, so did the quintessential night time soap. Sure, they're trying to replace it, but nothing is quite as juicy as serving up revenge in the way Emily Thorne and Victoria Grayson did week after week. Their endless fight lives on in our hearts, and we're still hoping someone sees the value in that Nolan Ross spinoff.

5. One Tree Hill

There really is only one Tree Hill. Glued to the screen from the beginning, right through to the end, One Tree Hill reinvented itself more than any other show on TV and still managed to remain one of the best. We'd like to think everyone is just continuing on with a happily ever after. We can dream, right? Thank Goodness Sophia Bush is on Chicago PD every week and Chad Michael Murray pops up all the time. It helps!

6. The Secret Life of the American Teenager

One of the worst kept secrets on television was the SEX lives of these teenagers. Heck, maybe that wasn't their secret. Never did figure that one out. But despite the terrible acting (Shailene Woodley went on to be nominated for a Golden Globe) due to the cheesy storylies, it was impossible not to fall in love with these kids. We still hope, deep down, that Amy and Ricky found their way to each other. Sorry Ben!

7. Friday Night Lights

America loves football, so when you add football, family and teenage angst you have the perfect drama setting. It didn't hurt that it was incredibly well-written with a beautiful cast of characters, many of whom have gone on to greatness. We're looking at you Connie Britton, Kyle Chandler and Taylor Kitsch. They're positively littered across our screen, but that doesn't stop some of them from visiting Texas each summer for a little FNL reunion at the ATX festival. God bless 'em. Can we get a movie out of it?

8. Glee

What a wild ride! There is no doubt Glee sparked a different generation of storytelling and propelled Ryan Murhphy into the stratosphere, taking Lea Michele with him. You can catch her on Scream Queens now. Grieving the loss of Cory Montieth really cemented the family feel of Glee, and bonded fans forever. All the success is theirs for the taking, just like they wished!

9. White Collar

The unlikely friendship beween a con-man and an FBI agent never gets old, right? Or something like that. Every season White Collar kept us guessing and never grew stale in how each character would surprise us with by going bad and rolling back to the side of good. We won't lie when we say we'd watch again in a heartbeat, but we also love seeing Matt Bomer shirtless and bloodied up in American Horror Story: Hotel.

10. Two and a Half Men

Do we miss it more from the days of Charlie Harper or Walden Schmidt? Meh, the good thing is Alan Harper remained consistenly silly and hilarious throughout the run. You could always count on him to be needy and trying to get a little of whatever Charlie or Walken had. He was the glue, man!

11. Hart of Dixie

Where love quadrangles were fun! Thanks to Zoe Hart, we never got too sick and tired of people loving and losing and loving again. Somehow we always knew she'd wind up with Wade and all would be right with the world. Still, the sure made small town living seem like a hell of a lot of fun, didn't they? Nobody from this show is popping up anywhere else right now, which is a crime.

12. How I Met Your Mother

So maybe we put a little too much weight into the title over the years, worrying about who the mother might be, only to have her DIE and be of little consequence after all, but the real story was in the core five friends and how important they were to one another. Wouldn't you have just loved to have been an extra in MacLaren's Pub? And let's not forget, Jason Segal is a bona fide comedy genius and Neil Patrick Harris is right behind him. Stars, y'all!

13. Sons of Anarchy

The drama. The tension. The violence. The love. The club. So much came out of Sons of Anarchy that shocked us to our core. SAMCRO didn't do anything in a small way and watching required a strong stomach and an iron will. You either loved it or you hated it, but strong emotions only proves how deeply one felt the writing. Stars were made in this one, and right now you can catch Katey Sagal in Kurt Sutter's The Bastard Executioner and Ryan Hurst will be in WGN's The Outsiders this winter.

14. The Mentalist

For six seasons we worked along side Patrick Jane as he saucily deduced clues to other crimes while really wanting to discover the identity of Red John so he could solve the murders that touched him personally. It was a little strange for that to come to an end, but we'd still take our crew any way we could have them and miss them every day!

15. True Blood

The tiny town of Bon Temps sure had its share of murders and supernatural beings...and crazy, sexy business, as well. Even though the series got a "proper" sendoff, we lost some great characters along the way and the right people didn't end up with the proper partners. Let's be real. Things could have and should have gone in other directions. We want them back so we can make some changes.

16. Friends

These friends became our friends. Their catch phrases became our catch phrases and although it was done before on Seinfeld, the way it was done on Friends, with everyone pairing up and being closer than every (and friendlier, dammit), paved a new way for sitcoms about friends to come. We still think about a reunion, and every time a couple of the stars meet up on another series or movie? It's a mini reunion. We'll never stop believing they're right down the street, still living and waiting to entertain us again.

17. Desperate Housewives

Before Revenge, the big sudser was Desperate Housewives. Wisteria Lane was full of mystery and sex and four friends who remained static throughout the seasons. The rovers came in, made a ruckus and moved on, for the most part. They tried to drive wedges in between the others, but it never worked. Some friendships cannot be broken, much like ours with the housewives. Wouldn't a reunion movie be grand?
