We don't spend a lot of time talking about reality television here at TV Fanatic, but let's be honest. We all have one or two reality shows we really enjoy watching, whether we want admit to our friends or not.
Some reality shows are popular, guilty pleasures, and others can even teach us a little something. Here's a look at some of the best reality shows of 2015.
1. The Voice
The ultimate singing competition show, NBC's The Voice is based on exactly that: contestants are chosen first by only the sound of their singing voice and nothing else. It's a lot of fun to watch, especially given the fact that audience members can participate by voting.
2. Keeping Up With the Kardashians
Keeping Up With the Karsdashians is still one of the most popular reality shows on TV. After all, who can take their eyes off all the drama with the Kardashian-Jenner family? It's the ultimate guilty pleasure.
3. I Am Cait
It seems like everyone was following Bruce Jenner's transformation into Caitlyn, and we got the chance to see some of her struggles and sucesses with the new reality series, I Am Cait, which premiered this year.
4. Dancing with the Stars
Dancing with the Stars finished its 21st season this year, and it is still going strong. It gives us the chance to see some of our favorite celebrities (and some we've never heard of) hit the dance floor and improve their moves from week to week.
5. Impractical Jokers
Impractical Jokers is a little bit absurd and a whole lot of fun to watch. After all, who doesn't want to see a bunch of comedians running around pranking people?
6. Cutthroat Kitchen
Host Alton Brown has something new up his sleeve every week on Food Network's Cutthroat Kitchen. This isn't just another cooking competition show, it's a game where chefs bid on sabotages and prepare dishes against ridiculous odds. It's incredibly fun to watch.
7. Face Off
SyFy's Face Off has make-up artists competiting against each other to create the coolest, most elaborate characters imaginable. The series recently finished up its ninth season.
8. The Bachelor / The Bachelorette
Now we're talking about the ultimate guilty pleasure reality series. Stuff a group of single people into a mansion to fight for the heart of one man or woman, and there's going to be tons of entertaining drama.
9. Sister Wives
Sister Wives on TLC follows the lives a polygamist family. They decided to participate in the show to make the public more aware of the challenges polygamist families face.
10. Shark Tank
Shark Tank is a really interesting one. It's the kind of show you can't stop watching if you land on it while scrolling through the channels. Plus, it feels like you have the inside scoop on a piece of the business world.
11. Survivor
What's not to love about Survivor? We can sit comfortably on the couch while watching other people do all sorts of insane things in an effort to remain on the island. It's the ultimate act of voyeurism. Survivor is also one of the highest rated reality shows, and it just finished its 31st season.
12. Big Brother
You really can't talk about reality shows without mentioning Big Brother. A group of people move into a house together and are monitored the entire time while hoping they don't get evicted. It's another guilty pleasure, and it's a great one to watch over the summer.
13. The Amazing Race
The Amazing Race features teams who literally race around the world while exploring new countries and learning about new cultures. It has won the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Reality-Competition Series TEN TIMES. That's definitely saying something.
