The Vampire Diaries and The Originals Crossover: Get the Details!

Another CW crossover is on the way.

Network President Mark Pedowitz confirmed the exciting news today during his panel discussion at the Television Critics Association’s press tour, telling reporters on hand:

"You will see, organically, a crossover this year.

"Not of the size and scope of we do for Arrow and Flash. They have to make sense [story-wise]. If they don’t make sense story-wise, don’t do it, don’t force it - the audience can tell."

What is This?!? - The Vampire Diaries Season 7 Episode 4
Klaus vs. Tristan - The Originals

What, specifically, can fans of these dramas look forward to this winter or spring?

Entertainment Weekly reports that the "Salvatores and Mikaelsons will cross paths."

Further explains creator Julie Plec:

“It’s something that we’ve always wanted to do, but never could quite find the organic way to do it.

"We never wanted to force it. The storylines happen to match up in a way that Stefan has to go on the run and seek safe haven, and lo and behold, New Orleans is that safe haven, and who does he come face-to face-with but Klaus Mikaelson.

It’s a nice two-episode set of Vampire Diaries-Originals cohabitation. It’s going to be good. I’m excited about it."

So are we.

The Vampire Diaries Season 7 Episode 10 and The Originals Season 3 Episode 10 will air on Friday, Jan. 29 at 8/7c and 9/8c, respectively, on The CW.

"The move to Friday night is not a move to exile [the shows],” Pedowitz said of the shows now airing a night later.

“It’s a move to strengthen Friday night."

Vampire Diaries Quotes

Damon: You know what they are? Children. Like lighting a candle's going to make everything OK, or even saying a prayer. Or pretending Elena's not going to end up just like the rest of us murdering vampires. Stupid, delusional, exasperating little children. And I know what you're going to say: 'It makes them feel better, Damon.' So what? For how long? A minute, a day? What difference does it make? Because in the end, when you lose somebody, every candle, every prayer is not going to make up for the fact that the only thing you have left is hole in your life where that somebody that you cared about used to be. And a rock with a birthday carved into it that I'm pretty sure is wrong. So thanks, friend. Thanks for leaving me here to babysit. Because I should be long gone by now. I didn't get the girl, remember? I'm just stuck here fighting my brother and taking care of the kids. You owe me big.
Alaric: I miss you too, buddy.

We met and we talked and it was epic. But the sun came up and reality set in.
