Michael Weatherly is sticking around CBS.
In the most unexpected of ways.
The veteran actor, who announced several weeks ago that he will leave TV’s highest-rated show at the end of NCIS Season 13, has signed on to play the title role on the drama Bull.
This pilot is based on the life of Dr. Phil McGraw, the prominent talk show host whose early days were spent running one of the most prolific trial consulting services in history.
According to the official character description, Weatherly’s "Dr. Bull" will lead a company that analyzes juries in order to help come up with defense attorney strategies.
He is intelligent, honest and popular with women.
Dr. McGraw will serve as an executive producer on the series.
It remains unclear just how well Tony will be written out of NCIS, but look for him to say goodbye in May.
