Once Upon a Time Season 5 Episode 13 Review: Labor of Love

at .

Killian continued to suffer in the Underworld while Snow found her mojo on Once Upon a Time Season 5 Episode 13.

I’m desperately hoping that we don’t have to watch Killian endure the pain of the Underworld for the rest of Once Upon a Time Season 5.

As much as I enjoy a good search and rescue story, having to sit through several episodes of his agony is bound to get old.

Mary Margaret's Friend - Once Upon a Time

I was glad to hear that Killian knows that Emma has come for him, even though they never said exactly how he knows. I can only guess it’s from Emma trying to conjure him in the cemetery in Once Upon a Time Season 5 Episode 12

I have to say, I wasn’t overly impressed the the Cerberus. I’m sure that keeping the beast in the dark for half of the hour was suppose to build suspense, but those glowing eyes only managed to remind me of a bad amusement park haunted house.

Hercules’ story wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t worthy of a demigod, either. Watching him carry giant anchors was cute, and I appreciated getting to see him as a teenager, but I didn’t find the rest of his story satisfying. I suppose this entire tale was geared around reminding Snow that she’s a hero.

And as Regina said, It's about time. One of the first things that attracted me to this show was Snow White as a spunky bandit. Her Mary Margaret persona was always a bit of a let down. Besides, never knowing which name to call her had become tiresome.

Once again, Regina got all the best lines, from calling the blind witch from Hansel and Gretel “child muncher” to this Once Upon a Time quote during an argument over a stolen apple and getting burned to death…

What do you think happens when you steal from a witch, Witch?

Regina

I love how Regina still takes no crap from anyone yet she’s become a true hero and is now the person who inspires Snow…

You defeated me in a way no one thought was possible. You made me your friend by never giving up on me.

Regina

Elsewhere, Henry came face to face with Cruella de Vil. Cruella tried to convince Henry that Emma’s soul was in danger because she killed her. If I remember correctly, Emma magically threw Cruella off a cliff when she held a gun on Henry. I don’t know what the justice system is like in the Underworld, but I’d call that justifiable homicide.

Will Henry search for the quill or tell his mothers about his run in with Cruella? Will Hades actually be able to hold our heroes in the Underworld? Are you enjoying this Bizarro version of Storybrooke?

Check back later on this week to find out what our Once Upon a Time round table team has to say, and if you can’t wait until then, you can watch Once Upon a Time online here at TV Fanatic.
