Pretty Little Liars may be over, but that does not mean we will not see Shay Mitchell on TV.
The actress has signed an overall deal with Warner Bros. Television, which produced Pretty Little Liars.
Mitchell's production company, Amore & Vita Productions, Inc. has signed a multi-year pod deal that will see her and producing partner, David Dean Portelli will develop ideas for scripted and non-scripted programming.
On top of that, there will be a talent holding deal in place for Mitchell, and she has already achieved her first series regular role through the pact.
Her first show under the deal is You, which is set at Lifetime. The series achieved a 10-episode straight to series order earlier this year.
It follows a writer who becomes obsessed with a woman who works at a book store. In his quest for love, he realizes that he will stop at nothing to get her.
That means stalking her on social media, and strategically planning ways in which he can remove all of the obstacles for him to get close to her and have her fall in love with him.
“‘You’ is the most twisted love story ever,” said Liz Gateley, Lifetime’s EVP and head of programming in April.
“A romantic thriller centered around a relationship between two people that gets taken too far, the series explores the line between passion and obsession. In the amazingly talented hands of Greg and Sera, we know this project will be special.”
Taking on the two lead roles are Penn Badgley (Gossip Girl) and Elizabeth Lail (Once Upon a Time).
Mitchell's role on the series as Peach Salinger finds her in a position of money and power as she effortlessly takes on the role of Queen Bee in her social circle.
Greg Berlanti, Sera Gamble, Sarah Schechter, Leslie Morgenstein and Gina Girolamo are executive producers.
Mitchell shot to fame after appearing as Emily Fields on Pretty Little Liars. The series wrapped earlier this year after lasting seven seasons.
