Dark Matter: Canceled After Three Seasons at Syfy!

at .

The Raza will no longer be traveling through space and time with its crew.

According to TV Line, Syfy has pulled the plug on the addictive drama after just three seasons on the network. The series followed six individuals who woke up on a spaceship known as the Raza.

They assumed the names one through six because they did not know anything about their lives before that moment.

It was an interesting set-up for a series and TV Fanatics connected with the storylines and the colorful characters. Fans enjoyed that it was different to the usual sci-fi fare.

The series had a talented cast that boasted the likes of Melissa O'Neil, Anthony Lemke, Alex Mallari Jr., Jodelle Ferland and Roger Cross.

Executive producer Joseph Mallozzi released a statement via a blog post

"It is with great sadness that I confirm the news. Syfy has cancelled Dark Matter after three seasons," the post begins.

"To say that I’m incredibly disappointed would be an understatement. I’ll save my comments and field your questions in a future blog entry."

"For today, I just want to extend a heartfelt thanks to my amazing crew, my wonderful cast, and to all of you, our incredible fans."

"You all deserved better," Mallozzi concludes.

A Final Attempt - Dark Matter Season 3 Episode 12

Dark Matter Season 3 Episode 13 will now serve as the series finale, and it did not offer much of an ending for fans of the series.

It ended with Six detonating a blink drive in the Marauder inside the shipyard. In the process, it seemed like he killed himself in the process.

After that, sinister looking black spaceships appeared out of nowhere and the show cut to black.

Unfortunately, we will never know.

Dark Matter Season 3 averaged 0.6 million viewers and a 0.2 rating among adults 18-49. This was down 12 percent in the demo vs. Dark Matter Season 2

It was on the lower end of the ratings spectrum for Syfy's, but fellow Friday show, Wynonna Earp clinched a renewal for Season 3 recently with lower ratings.

Uniting Enemies - Dark Matter

Wynonna Earp Season 2 averaged just 0.5 million viewers and a 0.1 rating. Fellow Friday show, Killjoys has yet to be renewed or canceled.

If Killjoys does get canceled, it would appear that the network is cleaning house and getting rid some of its older shows.
