Reese Witherspoon, Jennifer Aniston's Drama Series Lands at Apple

Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston have a brand new drama series in the works, and yes, both of the excellent actresses are set to appear!

According to Deadline, the series will follow the behind-the-scenes drama of a daytime morning talk show and has landed at Apple.

Yes, Apple is the latest company to make its way into the scripted originals side of things, and we're freaking out about it.

The company has gifted the series with a two-season, straight-to-series order which is a significant order for a first-year show.

The series is based on an original idea by Michael Ellenberg, who will be executive producing alongside Witherspoon and Aniston.

It is described as "an inside look at the lives of the people who help America wake up in the morning, exploring the unique challenges faced by the women (and men) who carry out this daily televised ritual."

This marks Aniston's first series regular role since Friends concluded back in 2004. Witherspoon, meanwhile, won praise for her role on Big Little Lies earlier this year.

Simply put, the two women are no stranger to the small screen. In fact, they even played sisters on Friends over a decade ago.

This series is the perfect title to promote the launch of Apple's scripted fare. Having both Witherspoon and Aniston attached is sure to get people talking.

Apple has also handed out a series order for the reboot of Amazing Stories, which comes from the creative minds of Bryan Fuller and Steven Spielberg.

It's unclear when these series will debut, but it is expected they will enter production in the coming months for a 2018 launch.
