NCIS still has some life left in it

The veteran CBS drama series has been renewed for Season 16, and leading man, Mark Harmon will continue to star and executive produce.

“It’s pretty simple – viewers everywhere love NCIS,” Kelly Kahl, President of CBS Entertainment, said in a statement.

The National Park - NCIS

“This show speaks to viewers of all ages, in all parts of the country and around the world. NCIS‘ amazing characters and terrific storytelling result in some of TV’s most passionate fans."

"Of course, none of this would be possible without an outstanding production team, and talented cast led by the incomparable and absolutely tireless Mark Harmon."

"We’re thrilled he is returning as the centerpiece of the show, and we could not be more excited for NCIS 16th season.”

Pauley Perrette (Abby Sciuto) - NCIS

As previously reported, Pauley Perrette is exiting the series, and her final episode is slated to air Tuesday, May 8.

The show has remained a force in the ratings and is currently averaging 13.3 million viewers and a 1.4 rating.

The numbers swell 60 percent in the demo when DVR viewing is factored in. These figures are down somewhat, but the show is still a hit.

There's no way CBS would have ever to the top drama on the network without some sort of fight.

Bishop: Ew. Like, each other?
McGee: Yeah.
Bishop: Wait - isn't that a violation of rule 12, never date a....
McGee: It was a long time ago. After we'd broken up, one night I went to her lab. Found a scribbled piece paper; a list. Potential boyfriends had to fulfill certain conditions by a pre-arranged date or else, goodbye.
Bishop: Such as.
McGee: Things started off relatively normal: opening the door for her, flowers, putting the seat down. Then around number 8, it gets uh...
Bishop: What?
McGee: Does she know you have these?
Bishop: Does she know you have these?
McGee: Yeah she wasn't happy when she found out.
Bishop: These are all very specific.
McGee: Yeah.
Bishop: These ideas apply to you?
McGee: No those rules weren't in place when we were together. At least I don't think so.
Bishop: What's with the two month cutoff? Abby's sabotaging herself. I've seen stuff like this before. We have to talk to her.
