With the dust starting to settle in one of the biggest scandals to rock the TV world in quite some time, another Roseanne star has offered some words about the ABC hit being canceled.

“[I’m] devastated by the cancellation of Roseanne,” the actress said Tuesday via Twitter, before adding, “But more devastating are the effects of hate speech and racism on individuals and society.”

The actress went on to say that everyone should "spread love not hate."

There's no denying that it must be a difficult time for the cast and crew. It was difficult enough to bring the show back after a 20-year hiatus.

But it emerged as one of the biggest hits on TV and becoming the most watched show on broadcast TV after just two months back on the air.

It was such a hit that ABC swiftly locked the cast down, and renewed it for an expanded eleventh season shortly after it returned.

However, series star Roseanne Barr took to Twitter earlier this week and compared Barack Obama's former aide Valerie Jarrett to an ape, and immediately felt the ire of the internet and the world.

ABC decided it was cutting ties not just with Barr, but the show itself, and swung the ax on Tuesday afternoon.

“Roseanne’s Twitter statement is abhorrent, repugnant and inconsistent with our values, and we have decided to cancel her show,” said ABC President, Channing Dungey in a statement.

"Today my words caused hundreds of hardworking people to lose their jobs," the actress said in the aftermath of the cancellation.

"I also sincerely apologize to the audience that has embraced my work for decades. I apologize from the bottom of my heart and hope you can find it in your hearts to forgive me."

Roseanne Barr Smiles

Despite her claims that she was sorry, she subsequently took aim at co-stars Sara Gilbert and Michael Fishman because they took to social media to condemn her for her comments.

It's going to go down as one of the biggest changes of the tide in the history of TV, and it's surprising that one horrific tweet can change the public perception of one person in such a swift manner.

Roseanne: Oh, my favorite, drugs! What happened to the rest of our candy?
Dan: Funny story. Our insurance don't cover what it use to so I got the drugs for twice the price.

Roseanne: Dan! Dan!
Dan: What? What happened?
Roseanne: I thought you were dead!
Dan: I'm sleeping! Why does everybody always think I'm dead?
Roseanne: You looked happy. I thought maybe you moved on.
