It may have taken some time to make a decision, but ABC is really bringing Roseanne back without its leading lady.

Last week, the network confirmed it was picking up a spin-off of the show titled The Conners which will chronicle the continuing adventures of the family without Roseanne Barr.

On Monday's episode of The Talk, Sharon Osbourne was quick to point out that "someone at our table is making headlines,” referring to ABC's decision to keep the show around in some capacity.

Sara Gilbert Attends ABC Upfront

Sara Gilbert, who appears on The Talk in addition to the comedy series was quick to open up about her thoughts on bringing everyone back.

“I’m so excited. Thank you so much,” said Gilbert who was smiling from ear-to-ear.

It's been a troubling few weeks for everyone involved with Roseanne. Last month, Barr took to Twitter and compared Valerie Jarrett to an ape, and ABC responded by swiftly canceling her show.

Despite Barr's attempts to take back what she said, the network stood firm, refusing to bring the show back to the air.

In the weeks that followed, there were rumblings that a spin-off could surface without any input from Barr, but in order for it to go ahead, Barr was not allowed to benefit financially.

"The Conners' stories demonstrate that families can always find common ground through conversation, laughter and love. The spinoff will continue to portray contemporary issues that are as relevant today as they were 30 years ago," ABC shared in a statement when the spinoff was announced.

In support of their new series, cast members John Goodman, Laurie Metcalf, Sara Gilbert, Lecy Goranson and Michael Fishman said, in a joint statement:

"We have received a tremendous amount of support from fans of our show, and it's clear that these characters not only have a place in our hearts, but in the hearts and homes of our audience."

"We all came back last season because we wanted to tell stories about the challenges facing a working-class family today. We are so happy to have the opportunity to return with the cast and crew to continue to share those stories through love and laughter."

Roseanne Quotes

Dan: Candyman's home babe.
Roseanne: Oh, my favorite, drugs! What happened to the rest of our candy?
Dan: Funny story. Our insurance don't cover what it use to so I got the drugs for twice the price.

Roseanne: Dan! Dan!
Dan: What? What happened?
Roseanne: I thought you were dead!
Dan: I'm sleeping! Why does everybody always think I'm dead?
Roseanne: You looked happy. I thought maybe you moved on.
