The Originals Round Table: Will the Mikaelsons Really Die?!

at .

The Mikaelsons have always been a family that cares for each other in the most unorthodox of ways.

On The Originals Season 5 Episode 7, things took a crazy turn when a new prophecy was thrown into the mix.

Below, TV Fanatics Alyssa Whittington, Lizzy Buczak and Paul Dailly discuss the funeral, the new prophecy and what's coming next.

What are your thoughts on the new prophecy?

Alyssa: I’m very interested to see how this will go. I hope they find a way to stop it, but I'm very excited to see how this will play out for the rest of the season. Especially since we'd lose Freya and Hope if it came to pass.

Lizzy: It's intriguing. The stakes are higher now that it affects all firstborns, not just the Mikaelson clan.

Paul: I like it. It feels very climactic and could explain why Hope is well away from her family in Legacies.

Making Some Calls - The Originals Season 5 Episode 7

Who has the Mikaelsons locked up together?

Alyssa: Esther... No, but really it wouldn't surprise me if it was their Mother.

Lizzy: I'm going to go with Roman and one of Greta's witches. He's pissed that they killed his mom and has gone off the rails. It would be more fun if it was Antoinette, though. I can see her being the big bad.

Paul: I'll go with Marcel. He's finally grown tired of all the family drama and wants to see if things with the prophecy are really bad.

I'm Back - The Originals

What are your thoughts on the way Hope acted to Klaus for not being around?

Alyssa: It was a heartbreaking scene. Literal tears came from eyes because the emotions were high and full of heartache. It was so sad to see Klaus so helpless and to see Hope want nothing more than her Dad to be there for her, physically.

Lizzy: It's heartbreaking that she's so broken that she's blaming him when he's just as powerless. If he could be with her and take away all this pain, he would. It's wild to see the most powerful hybrid so defeated.

Paul: I agree. It's a difficult situation, and at the core of it is this young girl who wants her family to function like a family.

Saying Goodbye - The Originals Season 5 Episode 7

Is Antoinette genuinely a good character?

Alyssa: No. Absolutely not. I think she is putting on one hell of a show.

Lizzy: Going back to my previous sentence up there, I hope not. I think she really played Elijah and got him right where she wanted... well until that deadly Klaus bite got the best of her.

Paul: I like the suspense with her. I keep thinking she's going to show her true colors and then she handles being bitten by Klaus as elegantly as ever.

Jaime Murray as Antoinette - The Originals Season 5 Episode 3

What did you think of Hayley's funeral?

Alyssa: I thought it started off great. Hayley was a very vibrant, free spirit woman, so it made sense that her funeral showed that; however, I understood why Hope was upset about it.

No one familiar was there for her. No one took time to be there, and that hurt. I hate how it was so rudely interrupted by Greta's gang of misfits.

The funeral at the bayou was breathtakingly beautiful. The scene between Hayley and Klaus was amazing, and I'm so glad they finally had their moment as Father and Daughter.  Hayley was loved by so many people. She stained her mark on the world, and it will have a lasting effect.

The Struggle - The Originals Season 5 Episode 7

Lizzy: Much like Hope, I was saddened that there was no one that she knew around. I preferred the wolf funeral because it felt more personal.

Hayley was the glue that held this family together, and she deserved a proper sendoff. And it was beautiful to see Hope and Klaus reunite and vow to do everything in their power to save the family because that's what Hayley would have wanted.

Not having Elijah present for either of them really stung but at least he didn't crash the second line like it was assumed.

Paul: I'm still bitter about the way the character was treated, but the funeral at the bayou was so much better than the derailed one in the street.

The Originals Season 5 Episode 7 Quotes

No news. Today is all about reflecting on the loss of a vibrant woman. No news, because news means information, information means action, and actions mean dead people. I don't want any news.

Elijah: You listen to me, okay? Anything happens to her, I won't ever forgive this.
Klaus: One doesn't need forgiveness from enemies. And that's where we are, you and I. We're certainly no longer family.
