Mariana Adams - Foster has had enough!
Gone are the sweatshirts, ponytails, and glasses; the spirited, passionate, and outspoken Mariana is back and ready to do some damage.
On Good Trouble Season 1 Episode 4, Mariana is ready to shake things up when the employees of Speckulate are asked to discuss the diversity and work environment during an interview.
She is expected to speak about how diverse and lovely the environment is, but given her experiences, she would be telling a lie.
She's over her treatment, and she's willing to risk it all by telling the truth in hopes that something will finally be done.
Alex and his lackey Sam have made her experience at the company hell.

She has been on the receiving end of blatant sexism and some racism too. So far she was ostracized from her team, given grunt work, and had her ideas stolen.
She even considered quitting, but now she's determined to fight back, and she's willing to risk her job if it means she can bring about change.
Casey, another female engineer, gave her some advice on how to cope with the treatment, but it's not enough anymore.
It won't bring about the necessary change, and the level of harassment cannot continue. What about all of the other women and minorities that come after her?

Mariana may attempt to harangue Raj into speaking up too. Out of all the members of her team, Raj is the kindest. He didn't appear to have an issue working with a woman, he respects her, and he likes her.
Unfortunately, he doesn't speak up or stand up for Mariana either. What good is comforting and reassuring her behind Ale's back if he doesn't call his friends out to their faces?
Of course, from the promo, it's apparent that Raj is tired of the crapy treatment and lack of diversity at the company too. It seems he may be familiar with racial harassment of his own.
Raj is afraid to speak up because of the effects speaking up may have on his position. It makes sense, and it explains a lot.
Mariana is on a mission, however. She's already on Evan's radar, so this may be what brings the two of them together for a real meeting of the minds.
Fiery, take-no-nonsense Mariana is in full effect, and it's bound to be a thrill. As she so famously mentioned once upon a time when some other boys doubted her abilities, "Bitches get things done."
