Dollface: Shay Mitchell Lands Lead Role in Hulu Series

Shay Mitchell is making her return to the small screen.
According to Deadline, the Pretty Little Liars alum will star opposite Kat Dennings on Hulu's Dollface.
The series follows a young woman (Dennings) who is forced to confront the decisions she made while in a relationship with her longtime boyfriend.
The woman's relationship with her boyfriend fizzles out, and she uses her imagination to re-enter the world of women, while finding a way to rekindle the friendships with the women she left behind.

Mitchell is coming on board in a recasting. She will take over the role Lex Scott Davis was initially attached to play.
Hulu has already handed a series order to Dollface, ordering 10 episodes for the first season.
The series comes from writer Jordan Weiss (Harley Quinn) and ABC Signature Studios.
Matt Spicer is attached to executive produce and direct the first episode. Other producers include Brett Hedblom from LuckyChap Entertainment, Bryan Unkeless and Scott Morgan of Clubhouse Pictures (I Tonya).

Mitchell is best known for her role as Emily Fields on Freeform's Pretty Little Liars, which wrapped in 2017 after seven seasons.
The actress recently appeared on Lifetime/Netflix hit, You, in the role of socialite Peach Salinger.
Her role on that series was for one season, and she will not be back for the recently announced second season.
Dollface will also mark a change of pace for the actress:
This will be her first lead role in a comedy series.
