Game of Thrones Finally Reveals The Truth About Arya's Big Moment

It's been over a week since Game of Thrones wrapped up for good, and there are still some huge burning questions from Game of Thrones Season 8

HBO aired Game of Thrones: The Last Watch on Sunday, and it shed light on some of the big twists.

Arya Returns - Game of Thrones

One moment, in particular, detailed what really happened on Game of Thrones Season 8 Episode 3 when Arya Stark emerged from the shows and killed the Night King.

There have been many theories doing the rounds about the scene in question, but there has been no definite answer.

Until now.

Game of Thrones producer Bryan Cogman revealed during a table read for "The Long Night" just how that twist came together.

"Something is hurtling towards [the Night King] out of the darkness: Arya," he says to stunned cast members.

"She vaults off a pile of dead wights, leaps at the Night King, and she plunges the dagger up through the Night King’s armor. The Night King shatters."

While it's great to know what happened, it would have been great if we actually got to see the wights she vaulted from on-screen.

Many fans have criticized Game of Thrones Season 8 for flaws in logic. If you watch Game of Thrones online, there didn't appear to be any wights in Godswood.

There were White Walkers, and there was a throwaway shot of some hair moving, presumably because of the speed Arya was running at.

Beyond that, many were surprised when Arya was revealed to be the savior.

It's great that HBO is saying goodbye to the show in style, thanks to Game of Thrones: The Last Watch, but a more coherent reason for the assassin to emerge out of nowhere would have been swell.

As for Arya, she survived the series and decided to go on an expedition of her own to find out what else is out there in the world.
