SEAL Team Showrunner Steps Down Following Internal Investigation

John Glenn has stepped down as showrunner from CBS military drama SEAL Team following an investigation by CBS Television Studios, according to The Hollywood Reporter

The writer-producer's overall deal with the production company has also been canceled. 

Glenn responded to the news with a statement: “I am proud of the work we did — and greatly enjoyed having the chance to contribute to its creative and commercial success."

However, Glenn's attorney admitted to the outlet that he disputes any findings reached in the investigation. 

Glenn became showrunner on SEAL Team in it second season. He had previously been an executive producer on NBC's ill-fated Allegiance.

SEAL Team executive producer Spencer Hudnut will now serve as interim showrunner on the third season, premiering Wednesday October 2 at 9/8c. 

Glenn's exit is the latest in a series of controversial departures from the television studio of late.

Just last week, it was announced that Star Trek: Discovery writer Walter Mosley exited when he was hauled into a meeting after using the N-word in the writers room. 

Then there was NCIS: New Orleans which said goodbye to EP Adam Targum, as well as one-time showrunner Brad Kern.

There was also controversy surrounding Bull when it emerged that Eliza Dushku previously complained about onetime co-star Michael Weatherly.
