The Umbrella Academy is adding new cast members ahead of its second season.
Netflix confirmed on Tuesday that Yusuf Gatewood, Marin Ireland (Sneaky Pete), and Ritu Arya (Humans) are joining the cast of the superhero drama.
They are joining a cast that includes Ellen Page, Tom Hopper, David Castañeda, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Robert Sheehan, Aidan Gallagher, and Justin H. Min.
The Umbrella Academy Season 1 was a roaring success upon its launch back in February.
It racked up solid reviews, and Netflix later revealed it was bringing in a strong amount of households who have access to the streaming service.
It tells the story of seven children who were adopted by a billionaire and taught how to save the world if things got tough.
Upon his death, the remaining six unite to find out what really happened, and how they can save the world from catastrophy.
However, they struggle to get along because of various things that have happened to them throughout their time in the Umbrella Academy.
Gatewood will play RAYMOND, a born leader with the smarts, gravitas, and the confidence to never have to prove it to anyone.
He is warm, dedicated, and has the innate ability to disarm you with a look. A devoted husband, he's the kind of guy everyone wants to know.
Marin Ireland will be playing SISSY, a fearless, no-nonsense Texas mom who married young for all the wrong reasons.
Still in her prime, she’s eager to rediscover what life and love has to offer.
Ritu Arya has been cast as LILA, a chameleon who can be as brilliant or as clinically insane as the situation requires.
Unpredictable, mischievous and sarcastic, Lila’s gifted with a twisted sense of humor.
A firm premiere date has not been set for the sophomore run, but it is currently in production.
