CBS Delays Sunday Night Lineup on NFL Doubleheader Days

In an attempt to avoid the wrath of millions of viewers every Sunday night, CBS has made a scheduling change for the fall.

On the day the network hosts nationwide NFL doubleheaders- currently set for October 7 and 21; November 4 and 18; and December 2, 16 and 30 – the primetime lineup will be pushed back 30 minutes.

Therefore, in these instances, 60 Minutes will begin at 7:30/6:30c, leading into Big Brother/The Amazing Race at 8:30; The Good Wife at 9:30, and the The Mentalist at 10:30.

The change was made following the NFL pushing back late-game start times to 4:25 p.m., assuring that CBS primetime shows would never begin as scheduled in their original time periods.
