Claire Elizabeth Beauchamp Randall Fraser is a World War II nurse who travels through time to the 18th Century.

There, the wife of Frank Randall meets and falls in love with Jamie Fraser, a Scottish landowner and soldier. Claire and Jamie marry, but when complications from pregnancy put their unborn child in danger, Claire travels back to the 20th Century, where she remains for two decades, raising their daughter, Brianna, with Frank as his child. When Frank dies, Claire fights to return to Jamie in the 20th century, and her daughter soon follows.

Claire and Jamie had another daughter who died in childbirth, and they gave a home and their name to orphaned pickpocket Fergus Claudel Fraser.

The couple also created a successful community in North Carolina called Fraser's Ridge.

Claire Fraser Quotes

Claire: Goodbye, Lizzie.
Lizzie: Maybe if the bairn’s a girl, I’ll name her Claire to keep from missing you too much.

Claire: Well, it’s not January.
Jamie: Nay. And we’re not dead. So much for our obituary.
Claire: Bloody newspapers. Never get anything right.
