Roger Wakefield MacKenzie lost his parents in World War II and was adopted by Reverend Reginald Wakefield.

The former Oxford professor met Claire Fraser and Brianna Randall (Fraser McKenzie) during their trip to Scotland, and he fell in love with Brianna when she was researching the era in which her birth father, Jamie Fraser, lived after Claire returned to the 18th Century.

Brianna went through the stones to find her mother and birth father, and Roger discovered he, too, could travel through time when he went after her.

Brianna and Roger have two children, Jeremiah "Jemmy" and Amanda "Mandy."

They currently reside on the Fraser family home of Lallybroch after finding it for sale after their return to the 20th Century for reasons associated with Mandy's health.
