Marcel is taking out the organs from a deceased patient and thanking him for the gifts. Time to move onto the lungs.
Maggie finds out from Loren that he needs a nurse to go with him while transporting a heart to St. Louis. Hannah teases Maggie about her interest in Loren.
Loren is shocked that Maggie is filling in but it works for him.
Archer walks with Margot and tells her all the plaes he's been while in the Navy. He likes the predictability of life in Chicago. A guy crashes his bike right in front of him. Archer goes to check the guy out. He says the guy didn't break anything. Margo is impressed. She wishes she could fix her patients as quickly.
Maggie enjoys seeing the city from the air.
Sharon tells Marcel that Ahmad has been fired.
Mrs. Miller asks Marcel about organ donation but the lungs that came in did not match. He is running out of time as he is getting more frequent clots in his lungs. Marcel tells her to keep the faith.
Doris tells Archer about a college student who came in high and who was fighting a tree.
Zac takes Archer aside and whispers that a patient's husband has a gun. Archer talks to the husband and asks him to get rid of the gun as guns aren't allowed in the hospital. He doesn't want to get rid of the gun. His wife sends him away and tells Archer that she doesn't like the gun either but he carries it because he was mugged a few weeks ago.
A doctor thanks Maggie for the heart. It's been exactly two years. Maggie is touched by this.
Ripley has called in sick. Asher questions Asher about it. She has no idea what that's about. Archer has a patient.
A woman who tried to jump off her balcony is brought into the hospital. Marcel does an exam and asks for x-rays. Massive head trauma, brain's exposed and partially missing. Multiple fractures, plevis is the only thing that's normal. Her husband comes running up and gets in their way. Dr Charles comes and walks the guy off.
The husband doesn't understand why June would jump. He says they just got married and bought a condo. She likes her job, is close with her family, has a lot of friends. He doesn't know about her daily life. He's been kind of absent because work's been crazy. What if that was the problem? Charles says that's not likely, that's not how suicide works. Nathan says she wanted to talk last night but he had a busy day ahead and turned her down. Marcel comes up and says June had a catastrophic head injury. She's in the ICU but there's not much hope for recovery. Nathan goes to see her and Marcel mentions to Charles that June was Valerie Clark's patient.
Asher checks out a patient who is having problems and says Asher is the only one taking her seriously. She doesn't think this is the flu and left when a resident at East Mercy disappeared.
Loren and Maggie discuss how flying is like the ED. It is thundering and Loren is trying to get under the wewather. Ice is on the blades. He needs her to hold on tight. The helicopter crashes. Maggie is not injured. Loren says he's good too.
Nathan is sitting at June's bedside. Sharon comes to tell him she's sorry for his loss. She asks him about organ donation. Nathan believes in organ donation but no, he does not want to talk about this because he believes June will wake up. He will sit here holding hands until she wakes up so they can talk. Sharon agrees to leave them alone.
Marcel doesn't want to try later because he doesn't want to be like Zola and influence the patient's decision.
Archer tells the staff about the crash. He says they are fine but the area is remote.
Urine tox on Perry is back. Cocaine and PCP. He tells Doris to meet him in the room. He finds that Perry has bolted. He has a secret stash in his shoe. Archer says to call security. He finds Sanders holding Perry at gunpoint while Perry is too high to understand. Sanders reflecxively shoots him. and doesn't seem to realize what he did.
Perry is brought back into the hospital for Archer to try to save his life. He has been shot four or five times. No exit wounds. He needs images. They find the bullet in the abdomen.
Maggie and Loren are stuck for a few hours. Loren thinks he might have broken a rib. He collapses. Maggie gets him to lie down and goes to get the trauma bag.
Loren's chest is tight and he is having trouble breathing. Maggie looks at his injury and realizes he's bleeding into his lungs. She doesn't have a chest tube kit but has to take care of him.
Victoria is shocked. Charles says the lack of warning signs and public nature of the act is unusual. Victoria says that June had insomnia and couldn't sleep at night. She had a sleep study done. Charles says Nathan didn't mention this so did he know? Victoria says she was going to tell him after the sleep study.
Sharon tells Archer that Sanders' act looks like self-defense to her. Emotionally he's shattered.
Hannah tells her patient she needs some GI tests. She promises she will stay even though she's an OBGYN.
Sharon tells Charles she is worried about Nathan. He won't let go of June's hand even though it's interfering with her care. Charles says he is looking for a reason that makes sense for June's suicide.
Maggie intubates Loren who groans with pain but says he'd rather that than die. But now he is losing a lot of blood and ther'es only two units int he helicopter.
Perry doesn't remember any of what happened. He thanks Archer for saving his life. Perry is disappointed that Archer is passing him off to other doctors. He thanks Archer again.
Hannah overhears Sharon talking to search and rescue. Meanwhile Mallory's test results are back. There's a mass in Mallory's pelvis. It may be cancer. Mallory wants to go home. However, Hannah says they need to remove the mass immediately.
Mr. Sanders has been released by the police. He asks about PErry and asks Archer to tell him he's so sorry. Zac says walking home from work can be scary. He's thought of getting a gun. But not anymore.
Charles shows Nathan a scan of June's brain and says she was a sleepwalker and that's why she jumped out the window. Nathan recalls he had found her on the couch or at the table. Why didn't she tell him what was going on? Charles says that even if they had talked last night, June wouldn't have known yet what the study meant. So neither of them could have known about sleepwalking.
Charles tells Sharon that Nathan listened to him.
Loren is fading. His pulse is thready and oxygen is almost gone. They ahve no more blood either. Maggie wishes she could recycle his blood. Where is the SAR team? They should be here by now. Loren says he's really cold. They cuddle and Loren says he messed up with her. He loved her from the moment he met her but she was married. He kept waiting for the right moment to ask her out. He shouldn't have waited. He goes unconscious. Search and rescue finally comes.
Archer operates on Mallory and finds a lot of suction. There's no mass. Just an infection from a ruptured appendix. She could have become septic. It was a good thing Hannah didn't pass her off.
Loren is brought back to the hospital. He's okay now but he needs to be checked. Maggie hugs Hannah nad tells her she'll call her later.
Sharon tells Marcel that Nathan is speaking to Organ Donation of America and Marcel sould join the conversation.
Archer goes to see Perry after all. He asks him to let Margo be on his team too. He convinces Perry that he has a problem.
Carson finally gets a pair of new lungs. June's lungs.
