Some of the best characters on television just so happen to be the bad guys. Or girls.
Whether they remain evil or antagonistic throughout the series or not, there’s no denying that television would be insanely dull without the constant trouble they’re causing alongside their wit.

Females characters always end up making the best antagonist, and whether or not they experience a change in morality over the course of their show, it’s always interesting to watch them develop.
We’ve made a slideshow below of 13 of the greatest female antagonists on TV!
Leslie Dean – Marvel’s Runaways Leslie is an interesting character. It’s hard to completely hate her, but there’s no denying all the horrible things she’s done. She does, however, love her daughter unconditionally and she’s not afraid to do what needs to be done.
Cheryl Blossom – Riverdale Cheryl is hands down the best character on Riverdale. She was always misunderstood and frankly, no one could blame her for lashing out. While she’s not exactly besties with the main friend group yet, she’s come a long way and does help her friends if they need her.
Killer Frost – The Flash Killer Frost is awesome. There’s really nothing else to say. She’s cool, she’s powerful, and she’s also Caitlin. It’s confusing.
Nicole Martinz – Siren Nicole is one sneaky and intelligent girl. It’s hard to actually get a read on her, but it appears as if she only has the military’s best interest at heart. However, we’re starting to suspect she may care more for the mermaids than she expected to.
Madison Montogomery – American Horror Story Madison Montogomery has been through a lot but continues to stay strong throughout all of it. For that alone, she deserves all the praise in the world.
Commander Lexa – The 100 Lexa was originally enemies with the delinquents. She sent her army to kill them multiple times and even betrayed the Sky People after forming an alliance with them. However, she develops a lot throughout her short time on the show and realizes she wants to be a leader who preaches peace instead of war. Because of this, her legacy will always live on. Plus, she’s super amazing and badass.
Bela Talbot – Supernatural Bela was badass. Poor Sam and Dean never really had a chance against her wit and quick thinking. She was always one step ahead.
Serena Joy – The Handmaid’s Tale Serena’s a pretty horrible person even under the circumstances, but she does play an interesting part on the series. You can’t help but feel bad for at times, which just goes to show what a well-crafted character she is.
Regina Mills – Once Upon a Time Regina had the best character development on Once Upon a Time. She went from being the evil queen to a woman who would put her life on the line to save her former enemies.
Mona Vanderwaal – Pretty Little Liars/The Perfectionists Mona really was one of the best parts of Pretty Little Liars. You never knew if you were supposed to feel sorry for her or if she was playing the audience as much as she was playing her friends. We can’t wait to see what The Perfectionists will bring for her.
Katherine Pierce – The Vampire Diaries Katherine was the most hilarious villain in history. It was pretty much impossible to hate her. She was extremely smart, sarcastic, and was always one move ahead of everyone.
Reign – Supergirl Reign was an amazing antagonist during Supergirl’s third season. Sam’s own strength mixed with Reign’s evil desires created quite an interesting villain.
Lilith – Shadowhunters Lilith was the mother of all demons. No one in their right mind would mess with her. Even though she spent all of Season 3 basically ruining the lives of the characters we love, the love she had for Jonathan proved that there was still something human in her.
